Hi, Frankie. This page is just for you and is a place where I will be posting updates on the creation of your custom artwork. To recap, I'll be creating an 18" x 24" x 2" original mixed media and resin piece featuring a charcoal gray background and a white floral design similar to the pieces shown below:

Last Updated October 30, 2018

Created the floral illustration to be consistent with the project's reference pieces (above). I'm very happy with the contrast against the charcoal gray background... Next steps will include multiple layers of UV protective varnish followed by poured resin! :)

Completed priming of panel as well as first and final coat of charcoal gray background. Once this layer has dried sufficiently it will be time to create the white floral pattern... Stay tuned! :)

The image below shows the custom 18 in. x 24 in. x 2 in. baltic birch panel (front and back). The sides and bottom have been taped in preparation for the paint and resin and the first coat of a clear gesso sealant / surface prep has been applied. Next step will include the application of the custom gray/charcoal paint layers minimum of two layers of acrylic will be applied. :)

Created a new reference panel with lighter shades of gray. I believe the shade on the left (below) is close to the right darkness as it will still provide some contrast for a white florals.

Today I created a reference piece with four shades of gray. I welcome your feedback on which background is closest to what you have in mind... I personally think the upper left is very close... Dark but not quite black... But I welcome your thoughts.

I also have ordered the custom birch panel. These typically take 6-7 days for my woodworker to create, but he's on it so I may receive it sooner. :)
